The Knoxville Alumni Association is gearing up for the 2019 homecoming weekend. The Alumni will be conducting different events throughout homecoming on the weekend of October 11th and 12th. Each year the alumni association holds their annual homecoming dance to help raise funds for different scholarships to be presented to the Knoxville graduating class as well as contribute to the Knoxville Boosters to help support activities throughout Knoxville. This year the dance will be held at Dyer-Hudson Hall on the Marion County Fairgrounds at 7 pm. Alumni Maureen Nichols tells KNIA/KRLS News this year the alumni have also partnered with the Octoberfest event which will feature the 1st Annual Knoxville Alumni Association Homecoming Bags Tournament. The tournament will be held on the square at the Atlantic and Pacific beer garden and is $20 per team or $25 the day of. The event will be held on Saturday, October 12th.  Registration begins at 2:00 p.m. with games to start at 2:30 p.m. Nichols says with the addition of Octoberfest she hopes to continue to make the homecoming weekend a bigger and funner event for not just the alumni but all the residents of Knoxville.
