Central College’s theatre department will present Neil Simon’s hilarious farce “Rumors” for four nights starting this evening through Saturday. The production begins each night at 7 p.m. in the Kruidenier Theatre. Directed by C.D. Adamson, assistant professor of theatre, the play centers around the Deputy Mayor of New York, who has just shot himself at a large Sneden’s Landing townhouse. He says though it’s only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of farce in the comedy. Tickets for the show cost $8 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens. Central students, faculty and staff are free with a school ID. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at events.central.edu or at the door the night of the show. In addition to the performance, the National Theatre Honor Society group at Central will be collecting donations for a local memory care unit in honor of Simon, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s prior to his death last year.
