The Indianola Soup Bowl Fundraiser will be held later this month, raising money for The Helping Hand in Indianola. Organizer Emma Jakes tells KNIA News an event was held to glaze bowls in early September, and people can purchase a glazed bowl made by local celebrities in a silent auction at a Soup Supper at the Warren County Extension Office. Jakes also said this was a project that combined several of her interests.

“Back in November of last year, I was thinking about projects I could do for my senior year. I wanted to combine my love of art and pottery as well as other facets of the community to raise money and food for a good cause in The Helping Hand. I’ve had my own pottery business since I was 12, so this is a big passion of mine.”

The Soup Supper will include a free-will donation box, the auction of glazed bowls, and encourages those attending to bring a non-perishable food item to donate. The Soup Supper will be held on October 19th from 5-7pm.
