In conjunction with Drinking Water Day at the Iowa State Fair and in celebration of 2,000 State Revolving Fund water quality loans made to Iowa communities, Governor Reynolds and Lt. Governor Gregg announced in August the Home Town Water Tower Contest. The contest challenges Iowa communities to show-off their hometown pride in a short video for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind water tower, designed by a local artist. Currently 24 Iowa towns are vying for the chance to win a custom vinyl wrap for one of their town water towers. Knoxville was chosen as one of the 24 towns in Iowa for their #IChooseKnoxville video created by A. J. Jackson. Voting is currently underway for the Home Town Water Contest. Voters can vote one time per 24 hours with the last day to vote being Friday, October 11th at 5 pm. As of Saturday, October 5th Knoxville was currently in 6th place with 698 votes.
