The City of Indianola is considering stormwater drainage improvements to the area near Boston and J Streets, as flooding occurs there at a higher rate during weather events. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the city directed their engineers to study the area to get a better idea of what needed to be done to fix it, and the studies the city does is to make sure Indianola is spending tax money as efficiently as possible. Waller also said no official action was taken by the council, but the direction given to city staff was to continue the process of eventually including it in the budget for capital improvements.
