The schools of the Little Hawkeye Conference converged in Oskaloosa for the annual conference cross country meet Monday.
In a field filled with runners likely making their way to Fort Dodge, the Pella boys placed 4th and the Lady Dutch were 5th among league opponents, while the Pella Christian boys finished 8th and the girls were 7th by one point.
Caroline McMartin’s 5th place finish and Josiah Wittenberg (9th), Mason Johnston (13th), and Tony Schmitz (14th) earned all-conference honors.
Pella Christian hit just their 4th girls varsity team score of the season, but in doing so, edged Oskaloosa for 7th. Sydney Hooyer bested her time from 2018 by 94 seconds for a 28th place finish, with Annaliese Admiraal getting 29th.
The Eagles boys had a 32nd place finish from Daniel Mora Demestri and 33rd by Brayton Juffer.
All cross country runners will learn their state qualifying meet destinations later this week.
