Pella Regional Health Center wrapped up Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities Saturday with the annual Pella in Pink event. A two mile walk and run including breast cancer survivors with their friends, family, and community supporters started and ended at the Tulip Toren. Breast cancer survivors were recognized with a rose prior to the start, with Pella Regional radiologists also discussing the importance of mammograms and early detection. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was at the Tulip Toren, playing music and helping with announcements. Pella Regional held three Paint the Stands Pink events — one at Pella Christian football Friday, at Pella volleyball last Tuesday, and at Pella football on October 11th; and also partnered with KNIA/KRLS for the annual Save-A-Life Radiothon this past Thursday.
