While this week will remain seasonal as it relates to autumn, the first major outlook for winter has been released. The National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center has issued an above normal chance for precipitation and equal chances for above or below normal temperatures from December to February. The outlook is meant to give an overall outlook for the full three months, and based on the projection, above average precipitation is more likely, with temperatures expected to average out near normal. The next Climate Prediction Center winter outlook will be issued in late November. A more short term outlook for the rest of October shows significantly higher chances for colder than average temperatures through the end of the month.
