Pella swimmers with the NCMP team from Newton helped win a Little Hawkeye Conference championship earlier this week. The Aquagirls scored 491 points by a team, with several Lady Dutch swimmers earning top marks. The medley relay team of Pella girls Maylei Ruggles, Kenzie VanMannen, Hannah Nedder, as well as Lillie Ray of Newton, were conference champions. Nedder won two individual titles as well, in the 50 free and 100 fly. Ruggles was the runner up behind Nedder in the 50 free. Natalie Boll was 2nd in the 500 freestyle with a season best time. Nedder and Ruggles were also on the 1st place 200 freestyle relay. VanMaanen, a senior, was also a conference champion in the 100 breaststroke, followed closely by Allison Paulius in 2nd place. Pella girls with NCMP will next swim at the state qualifying meet on Saturday, November 2nd.
