Two runners wearing the maroon and gray and the fleur de lis logo of Melcher-Dallas will run on the State Cross Country Course next week. Emery Sage backed up his strong season with a third place finish in a time of 17:12 in the boys class 1A race in Marshalltown and qualified for his second straight state meet. The Saints also had enough runners to post a score as they were 21st overall. Also girls runner J’Lyn Knutson, who has battled a hip injury for most of the season gutted out a tenth place finish in 21:02 to punch her third straight ticket to the state meet. Both Sage and Knutson will run at Fort Dodge next Saturday.
