The Pella Little Dutch will hit the road for Week 9 action this evening, as they’ll take on Grinnell. With a win, the Dutch would be outright district champions, and would sit in pretty good shape even with a loss. Pella Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says that one of his team’s major goals has been to take back the district, and they’re in a good position to do so.

Pella is 6-2 overall and 4-0 in Class 3A District 7. Grinnell is also 6-2, but are a game behind the Dutch in the district at 3-1. Barring a South Tama upset of Oskaloosa, the worst that could happen is a three-way tie atop the district standings. Pella is ranked seventh in the latest RPI, while Grinnell is next-highest ranked team in the district at 18th.

Jon Mohwinkle and Randy Sikkema will broadcast tonight’s game on the KRLS2 stream. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 with the opening kickoff at 7:30.
