A week from today, citizens will have the opportunity to vote in their local city and school board elections. The Iowa legislature recently combined the city council and school board elections. The newly combined election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Voters who live within city limits will see positions on the ballot for their respective city in addition to school board positions. Rural voters, who do not live within a city will only have school board information on their ballot. With the newly combined election, Marion County voters will use their General Election polling location. This location will be the only location voters need to remember regardless of election type. All registered voters will receive a new voter registration card in the mail that reflects their City and School Election polling place.
