Area residents are likely to get another taste of early winter weather today. According to the National Weather Service, between 1-2 inches of snow is in the forecast for most of south central Iowa through Thursday. Winds up to 20 MPH may cause patchy blowing snow at times as well. Residents are reminded to use their winter driving skills, including slowing down to better respond to slick roadways and backing off to increase the distance between bumpers to allow for more time to stop in case of an incident. Cold conditions are expected for trick-or-treaters Thursday as well, with wind chills dipping to near 20 degrees Thursday evening. Stay tuned to 92.1 KRLS for the latest winter weather information.
