Pella Christian High School’s award-winning theatre troupe presents the musical Newsies this week.

Having just been released, Pella Christian will be only the 4th high school in Iowa to perform the show, which comes during the high school’s 70th season of theater productions. Senior Braden Meinders says the show is based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, this musical tells the story of rebellious newsboy Jack Kelly who shares his dream of a life as an artist away from the big city with a fellow newsboy, Crutchie.

Fellow Seniors Colby De Vries, Jocelyn Gritters, and Halie Vermillion all say the show presents unique challenges as it relates to the music and choreography.

Reserved tickets for the shows at 7 p.m. from October 31st through November 2nd and can be purchased online at https://pchstt.booktix.com/.
