While the end of the high school volleyball season draws near, former Pella and Pella Christian alumni competing at the next level continue having success.

At UNI, Emily Holterhaus has remained a regular in the Panthers’ rotation as they push for the Missouri Valley Conference championship. Holterhaus has tallied 158 kills in 85 sets, with a .209 hitting percentage for the 16-9 Panthers, who are 10-1 in league play.


Former Pella teammates Kennady Klein and Natalie Clayberg continue their roles on Nebraska Wesleyan and Wartburg respective, both of whom are in the top half of the American Rivers Conference. Klein is averaging 1.99 digs per set for the Prairie Wolves that stand at 17-7 overall and 5-3 in league play, while Clayberg is averaging just over two kills per set for the conference champion Knights.

Pella alumna Jenna Murphy remains among the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference leaders in digs per set, with 5.57, for Iowa Wesleyan, with her 512 digs ranking 3rd among league players.

Two Pella Christian alumna and sisters remain key factors on a team eyeing a big run at an NAIA National Championship. Now ranked 1st in the nation, sisters A.J. Kacmarynski and Bekah Horstman are on the 25-0 Northwestern Red Raiders. The two have played in all 90 sets, with A.J. tallying 2.58 kills per set on a .233 hitting average and Bekah at 2.14 kills per set with a .410 hitting efficiency. Horstman has 99 blocks to lead the Red Raiders, and Kacmarynski has added 35.

Former Eagles Emma Huisman and Mady Zula are members of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference leading Trinity Christian College Trolls.
