The Pleasantville football team will not be playing tonight, as their season came to a close with a dominant win over Woodward Academy last week. While the push to return to the playoffs fell short, there were many positives in the 5-4 campaign. Among them was one final season for superstar runningback Cale Anthony.
After dealing with injuries early in his high school career, Anthony burst onto the scene with 339-yard performance in the season opener at Lynnville-Sully. His consistent play throughout the season landed him atop the rushing yards leaderboard in all of Class 1A. His 1793 rushing yards were tops in the class, and his 25 touchdowns also led the way in Class 1A. Overall, he finished 7th in rushing yards among all classes.
Anthony’s goal is to play college football. As of now, a decision has not been made as to what college he will attend.
