The American Rivers Conference Cross Country Championships were held Saturday in Dubuque. The Central men finished in fourth place with a score of 108, while Wartburg won the team championship with 19 points. The Dutch were paced by junior Nate Sanders, who finished seventh in a time of 27:21.8. Previously Sanders had not finished higher than 49th place at a conference meet. His placement earned him all-conference honors.
The women placed fifth as a team with 162 points, while Wartburg won the team title with 36. Due to conditions at the course, the race was shortened from 6,000 meters to 5,000 meters. Senior Lauren Moll was Central’s top finisher, placing 25th with a time of 21:20.5.
The top seven runners from both the men’s and women’s teams will compete at the NCAA Division III Central Regional Championships, hosted by Wartburg on Saturday, November 16th.
