The Simpson Storm football team gave up 28 third quarter points to rival Central Saturday afternoon, leading a deficit too big to overcome in a 51-34 loss heard live on 94.3 KNIA. The Storm scored twice in the first quarter and had a 14-10 advantage, but Central dominated the second and third, scoring 35 unanswered including the huge third quarter. The Storm came back to make a game of it, scoring 20 unanswered of their own to get the score down to 45-34, but Central would salt the clock away and score once more before the game ended to pick up the victory. Storm quarterback Tanner Krueger threw for 409 yards and four scores, Sam Bartlett had 167 receiving yards and a score, while Austin Bell had 150 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The Storm fall to 3-3 in American Rivers Conference play, and have dropped three games in a row. They will next travel to Loras on Saturday.
