While an incredible run of Pella football continued this season, it came just short of a return trip the UNI Dome on the wrong side of Solon, falling 24-0 in a playoff game heard live on 92.1 KRLS Friday.
After an opening drive fumble by Pella, the Spartans never looked back, racking up all of their scores in the first half before working to bleed clock after halftime. The scoring included 17 first quarter points for Solon, who used their dominating defense to keep the Dutch out of the end zone.
Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says Pella left too much on a field and gave the savvy Spartans too many opportunities.
Pella falls to 8-3 overall and finished in the 3A quarterfinals.
