Near record cold will continue today throughout the region as residents get their first real taste of winter. Lows are expected to be in the single digits, with wind chills dipping below zero during the early morning hours, and highs are only expected to reach near 20 degrees. This comes after 1-2 inches of snow fell in most of Marion County Monday morning and temperatures only topped out in the mid 20s in the afternoon. While not as cold, a major rebound in warmth isn’t expected until this weekend, when highs in the 40s are expected to return, according to the National Weather Service.
