The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board approved a special event application from Thrive Knoxville to use the Marion County Courthouse facilities during this year’s Living Windows event as well as approved a Class C Liquor License refund request from Elk Rock Event Center. The board approved amending Section 5.5 of the 28E Agreement with the South Central Iowa Cedar Creek Watershed Management Authority so Marion County would not be responsible for any structures built by the Watershed Management Authority on property that was not private property. They approved a resolution regarding an agreement between Marion County, the Iowa Department of Transportation and the City of Knoxville for improvements to the Highway 14/Weiler Drive intersection in which the project will potentially receive more funds through a larger grant. The board also held a health insurance discussion as well as gave Supervisor updates. Following the regular meeting the board held two closed sessions. Following the first closed session the board designated Supervisor Steve McCombs as the representative of the board regarding matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent. The second closed session was held with no action being taken.
