The Central women’s basketball team traveled to Dubuque Tuesday evening for their first ever meeting with Emmaus Bible College. Despite playing for the first time without last season’s leading scorer, the Dutch picked up a 76-51 victory over an NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) opponent. Sophomore forward guard Jenna Clark is out indefinitely after an injury in the season opener.
The Dutch got off to a sluggish start, but they were able to break the game open and empty the bench. Statistics were not available, but Central was led in scoring by senior Kendall Brown. Maci Gambell and Kelsea Hurley also scored in double figures.
Central is now 2-0 and will return to action Saturday afternoon, hosting Knox. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.
