Many residents have already gotten a jump on their Christmas shopping, and the Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance encourages all to consider making local purchases for the holidays. Sarah Treft with the PACE Alliance says shopping local bolsters the community and provides a boost to local retailers. She says many local stores offer one-of-a-kind gift options for all and provide personal service not often seen at larger retailers or online stores. The annual De Kerstdagen Tour of Stores will kick off the holidays in the Tulip City on Monday, November 25th at 5 p.m., with the annual tree lighting, performances by music groups from both Pella and Pella Christian, a visit from Santa, extended shopping hours downtown, and Marion County Bank selling discounted Pella Bucks.
