The Pleasantville football team entered 2019 looking to return to the playoffs after a 3-6 campaign in 2018. The Trojans had a promising start to the season with dominant wins over Lynnville-Sully and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Week 3 saw the Trojans humbled at home by Earlham, but Pleasantville would bounce back with a big win over Albia to end the non-district slate.

The Trojans entered district play by pulling away late from Colfax-Mingo. Pleasantville went on the road in Week 6 for the first time since Week 1, and fell to eventual district champion Pella Christian. Injuries plagued the Trojans in the latter weeks of the season, partially contributing to losses to Woodward-Granger and Interstate 35. Pleasantville finished the season on Senior Night with a dominant win over Woodward Academy to finish 5-4.

11 seniors will depart the program. Tune in to hear a season recap interview with Head Coach Mack Jorth on today’s KNIA Radio Coaches Corner.
