The Indianola City Council approved preliminary procedures for a new housing development in Indianola, to be built north of Hillcrest Ave behind the Indianola YMCA. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News this area has been targeted for growth, and this type of development will be a boost to the city.

“We’ve done a number of infrastructure improvements to make sure we can handle that growth in that area. It’s called Quail Meadows Subdivision, the developer is Phil Steger who has done other housing units in that vicinity. It’s around 50 homes, which is a nice number, and the average value of the homes is expected to be $350,000 and up.”

Waller also said adding this type of growth helps the entire community by adding more taxpayers to the area. A construction estimate plans for the project to begin this spring.
