Young but full of potential, the Pella Lady Dutch basketball team is hoping to become fast learners to get the program up to speed this winter.
Head Coach Jerod Garland says the 2019-20 season for the green and white may be a work in progress with multiple veteran leaders graduating after last season, but a roster full of gifted athletes has the potential to develop into a formidable squad if they can sharpen their skills against stiff competition.
Pella’s girls will be led by returning starter Madison Naig and regulars Faith Diers and Annika Peterson, with talented multi-sport athletes Courtney Thompson, Anna Vander Waal, Bailey Van Voorst, and Reagan Van Wyk likely factoring into the early season regular rotation. Pella opens the season at home Tuesday against Mt. Pleasant; hear from our girls basketball coaches on today’s Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner on 92.1 KRLS at 10 a.m.
