The Indianola girls basketball team fell to Southeast Polk in their season opener on their home floor Tuesday night 83-50. The Rams started out fast and never looked back, earning a 29-14 first quarter advantage that turned into a 54-28 halftime lead. The second half was a much closer affair, as the Indians scored 22 points but only gave up 29, but the game was too far out of reach. Kendall Clatt led the way for the Indians with 15, while Lauren Blake put in 7. The Indians fall to 0-1 on the season, and will next play on December 6th at Norwalk.

The Indianola boys swimming squad took down Des Moines Lincoln Tuesday evening 112-58, starting their season off on the right foot. The Indians took home a first place finish in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay, Collin Geurts won the 100 and 200 Freestyle, Nathan Pollard won the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke, Brad LaGrange won the 500 Freestyle, and Matt Coffelt won the 100 Backstroke. The Indians will have their next chance in the pool on Tuesday at Newton. For full results click below.
