Two Marion County nonprofit organizations have recently been awarded community grants from the Alliant Energy Foundation. Grants from the foundations are used to support local family, education and environmental initiatives. Habitat for Humanity of Marion County, received $2,500 for the South Sixth Street Partnership with Knoxville Community School District and  Families First of Pella was the recipient of $1,500 for their Parenting with Love and Logic class. These grants are among 144 the Alliant Energy Foundation awarded this grant cycle, totaling over $343,000.
