Student athletes from Pella and Pella Christian are coming together for a cause this winter through their church youth group. Pella Lady Dutch Sophomore Anna Vander Waal and Pella Christian Freshman Emri Agre are a part of the CORE Ministry at Third Church in Pella, and say they are participating in a diaper drive to benefit Riverside Church in Knoxville. Both say it’s a project that came together as the group of Pella and Pella Christian students united to come up to serve the area community during the holidays, and brings the two school communities together. Brian Vande Lune says the effort is led by the youth group, as they’ve been tackling several aspects of the service project.

Monetary donations can be made out in checks written to Third Church in Pella, and sent to Vande Lune at 609 East Union in Pella, where diapers can also be dropped off. Hear more about the project Wednesday on 92.1 KRLS during Let’s Talk Pella and the Radio Sports Page at 6 p.m.
