Central College students called for action on climate change Friday afternoon. With signs in hand, the group aimed to share their views with those on campus, and later during the demonstration, they marched to downtown Pella and met with Mayor-Elect Don DeWaard. The group of Central students read and presented a letter to the next mayor, calling for action by local elected officials as it relates to clean energy and environmental actions by the city. DeWaard said to the group he would be willing to listen to what the students on campus had to offer and what solutions or projects they might bring to the Pella City Council.
