A Seattle, Washington woman was arrested on a warrant this week in connection to forgery cases and thefts in Pella. Shontelle Ming, 20, faces a charge of ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony, two counts of forgery, each a class D felony, four counts of unauthorized credit card use, three counts of theft in the 4th degree, and two counts of theft in the 5th degree. According to court records, Ming is accused with James Nuzum, 35, of Norwalk, of using several stolen credit cards to make purchases together in January and February of 2018 in Pella, as well as Monroe, Prairie City, and Des Moines. Combined, the two are accused of racking up more than $1,500 in fraudulent charges and using the victim’s identification to do so and forging signatures on receipts. Nuzum faces two counts of forgery, each a class D felony, and two counts each of unauthorized use of a credit card and theft in the 4th degree. He pled not guilty to those charges, and had his charge of ongoing criminal conduct dismissed by the court.
