The Pella basketball teams will make the long trip to Fairfield this evening for non-conference action. The Lady Dutch will try to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses through the first five games of the season. The duo of Madison Naig and Faith Diers, who both score over 10 points per game, will look to lead Pella to victory once again. Fairfield enters with the momentum of a 3-1 record, with their only loss to Ottumwa of Class 5A.
The Pella boys are off to a 2-2 start, and will try to right the ship after an overtime loss at Indianola. Three players average in double figures, with Logan Shetterly’s mark of 25.8 leading the way on a team that averaged over 90 points per game before Friday’s loss. Fairfield is 1-3, and has steadily turned things around after a pair of blowout losses to start the season.
Tonight’s games will air live on 92.1 KRLS, with Jon Mohwinkle and Phil Hemming calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 6:00, with the opening tipoff at 6:15 at the Fairfield High School gymnasium.
