The Indianola girls basketball team has just one senior on the squad this season in Bailey Blake, and the Indians are seeing her contributions not just from the scoresheet, but in practice and leadership. Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports Blake’s numbers might not blow you away, but he can see the growth of the squad because of her example.
“Bailey’s actions always speak louder than her words. It would be hard pressed, and I’d have to go back and look at the numbers, but I don’t think since I started open gyms if anyone has better attendance than Bailey, I don’t know if anyone cares about our program being successful than Bailey does, and I’m so excited to see her be healthy this year, and I’m so excited to see her get the opportunity she deserves.”
Blake had a breakout game offensively against Pella Christian, hitting three triples from beyond the arc and scoring 11. The Indians are 4-2 heading into the holiday break.
