Despite a good nucleus of returning talent, the Central men’s basketball team has struggled to find consistency as of late. The Dutch won three in a row in early December, but have since dropped three straight to move to 4-7 overall. Returners Adam Flinn, Caden Mauck and Jaden Moody have performed well, but the loss of Thomas Spoehr to injury has opened the door for freshman Drake Johnson to make a name for himself. He’s played in all 10 games and started four of them, averaging just over nine points and four rebounds per contest and shooting over 42 percent from deep.
The Dutch will try to find their rhythm back when they host Coe on Saturday, which will be broadcast live on 92.1 KRLS.
