Pella Regional Health Center’s first baby of 2020 is a little boy. Elliott Jay Crile was born at 7:28 am on New Year’s Day. He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces and was 21 inches long. His parents are Ali and Brandon Crile of Oskaloosa. The delivering doctor was Dr. Richard Posthuma, while Dr. Paul Riggs performed the C-Section and Lisa Tucker, RN, was the labor nurse.
While Elliott is Pella Regional’s first baby in 2020, there were 607 babies delivered at Pella Regional Health Center last year, which is a record number at Pella Regional. The previous record was 539 babies born in 2016.
July and September were the busiest months and there were 304 girls and 303 boys. The heaviest baby was 11 pounds 2 ounces and the longest baby was 23 inches.
