The Melcher-Dallas Saints are just a few days away from returning to action, and before the break they really got on a roll, with a lot of the success coming from the starting five, they’ve also been getting some help off the bench. One of those players thats really stepped up has been Freshman Owen Suntken, according to Assistant Coach Pat Ferguson.

“We know down the road Owen Suntken is gonna be a tremendous player and right now it’s sort of spot minutes for him but when he is in the game he makes a huge difference not only on defense but he’ll help us out and hit some outside jumpers for us and again he’s a good body to have inside, he’s a smart kid knows how to handle the ball, he does an excellent job running with our first four or five guys we have because he does every day in practice”

Suntken has averaged 2.8 points per game, has 5 assists, 4 blocks and 4 steals, as well as 15 defensive rebounds and 7 offensive rebounds.

Owen Suntken and the Saints will be back from break on Monday, January 6th, to take on Murray High School in a Bluegrass Conference showdown.
