An 0-7 start to the season is uncharted territory for the Pella Christian girls basketball program as they try to navigate a tough schedule one-third of the way into the season. Head Coach Brad Engbers says the biggest difficulty has been generating consistent offense, which has been a challenge to solve despite the team playing otherwise solid defense.

“When you can put points on the board, obviously, that covers up a lot of the other makes you’re making on the floor, but when you don’t the ball in the hole, you could be doing a lot of good things, but it simply doesn’t look good on the scoreboard,” he says.

Engbers says a difficult task awaits as the break starts against talented Grinnell and DCG teams to open the new year. The Eagles will welcome the Tigers for a girls-boys doubleheader on Tuesday, with pregame coverage at 6 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
