After a five-game non-conference winning streak that included two holiday tournament championships, the Simpson Storm women’s basketball team is ready to come back to American Rivers Conference play to try and improve their 1-2 record. Assistant coach Moran Lonning tells KNIA Sports the non-conference was good for the team mentally, and she wants them to have the same mindset when they return.

“I just want our team to have the mindset that every game is independent of any other game. Especially in conference, anything can happen on any given night. I think it’s been fun playing non-conference games where people don’t really know all of our tendencies, but in conference everyone knows everything about everybody. So I think coming into each game and being ready to battle to the last second is big.”

The Storm get back to action Wednesday on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan.
