A member of the Pella Christian 1994 championship baseball team and the only Eagle to play for Major League Baseball is being honored for his career in baseball. Kory DeHaan is being inducted into the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 18th in Cedar Rapids.
DeHaan says he’s thankful for the chance to come back to Iowa after a decade of coaching baseball professionally, which followed his brief major league career.
“I’m just very honored to have something like this be attached to me,” he says. “I know completely that it just wasn’t about me, it was about our whole team coming together and doing something special that summer (1994).”
DeHaan was a starter on the 1994 state champion Pella Christian baseball team.
