On Monday, Iowa’s 2020 legislative session will begin at the capitol in Des Moines. Senator Amy Sinclair tells KNIA/KRLS News since she is the chair of the Education Committee, Education is her priority heading into the session. She says one of projects she is working on is a focus on violent classroom behaviors and how to make sure students and staff throughout Iowa have a safe learning and working environment for all. Sinclair says she doesn’t expect a lot of controversial topics to arise in this year’s session but says her focus is mainly on schools and mental health.
