A stretch of home games to open the new year continues today as the Pella and Pella Christian basketball teams stay in the Tulip City for Little Hawkeye Conference action.
The Little and Lady Dutch welcome Oskaloosa to town, while the Eagles host Dallas Center-Grimes.
Both Pella teams are coming off of a sweep of Newton, and both Indians teams may prove to be another chance for a pair of wins for the green and white. Pella’s boys will have to deal with future Iowa State Cyclone Xavier Foster, as the 7-foot tall big man impressed with 36 points in his return to the lineup against Norwalk this week.
Boys Head Coach Derek Schulte says the Indians remain a dangerous team because not only his presence, but the recent tradition of winning they’ve built down Highway 163.
Pella Christian’s girls are still seeking their first win of the season, and will have to do so against a Fillies team in the top half of the league standings. Eagles Head Coach Brad Engbers says it will be a difficult hill to climb against a DCG team that offers multiple threats to deal with.
The Eagles boys are trying to climb back to the top half of the conference race as well, and DCG will present another challenge for a P.C. team trying to get back to 100% health. Coverage from both games begin at 6 p.m., with Pella vs. Oskaloosa on 92.1 KRLS and Pella Christian vs. DCG on the KRLS2 stream at KNIAKRLS.com.
