Indianola Basketball Steps Out of Conference for Doubleheader
The Indianola girls and boys basketball teams play an old CIML Conference rival on their home court Tuesday, as Urbandale travels to Indianola for a doubleheader. The Indians girls are on a three game winning streak and have won five of their past six games, but face an Urbandale squad that is battle tested and 10-3 through their tough schedule. Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports his team is finding their stride.
“We are leaps and bounds ahead of where we were in November and December in terms of understanding who we are and what we want to do and the style that we want to play in. I’m really proud of the girls for buying into the game plans, buying into the roles, and we have to continue to build on that and get stronger on that.”
The boys put their eight game winning streak on the line, while Urbandale tries to reverse their fortunes having lost five of their last six games. The games tonight can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off scheduled for 6:15.
