It was veteran’s night at the Pella vs. Knoxville basketball games Tuesday, with Raceway Tire and Exhaust sponsoring the evening. All local service members and veterans received free admission and a voucher for concessions, and were recognized between games. Elementary students in Deb Fessler’s class at Madison Elementary sang the National Anthem before the varsity doubleheader began, and God Bless America was sang after the girls game by Pella choir students.

Raceway Tire and Exhaust held their annual tire roll, which raises funds between the Pella and Knoxville Athletic Boosters, with $5000 split evenly between the two schools after local veterans rolled tires to dollar amounts on the opposing wall.
