Davenport Author, Jill Esbaum will visit the Knoxville, Melcher-Dallas, Pleasantville, and Twin Cedars school districts today to give a presentation to the 2nd graders as well as hand out her book, The Little Kids First Big Book of How. This will be each student’s second book they have received from Rotary Club of Knoxville’s 2019-2020 Literacy Project. In addition to each of the students receiving the book, each city’s public library and the teacher’s classroom will also receive a book. Rotary received a grant from the Rotary Foundation to support its 2019-2020 Literacy Project which provided about 50% of the funds to give three books to every 2nd grader in these four school districts. To prepare for Ms. Esbaum’s visit, each school had either a Rotarian or librarian read one of her books and talk about Ms. Esbaum.  The students also wrote questions they wanted to know about Ms. Esbaum that they could ask her during their Q&A session.
