On Tuesday Knoxville junior basketball standout Kieren Nichols became just the fourth boys basketball player to join the 1,000 point club. He joined Brad Davis, John Carle, and Mark Godfrey in that exclusive club against Martensdale-St. Mary’s. While the Panthers lost that game, Coach Jeff Larson tells KRLS Sports Nichols efforts to improve his game and hard work is paying off.
Larson:
“Kieren’s a special kid and he does everything we ask. He didn’t want to stop the game when he got to 1,000 points we talked to him about, and he didn’t really want to have anything about after the game either because we lost, would have made it easier if he had won. He’s got a bright future ahead of him.”
Nichols and the Panthers will take on Carlisle on Monday.
