The City of Indianola will be holding a hearing on property taxes in March, newly required by state law. Director of Finance Andy Lent tells KNIA News the new law passed in 2019 is called the Maximum Property Tax Dollars Hearing, and is where the Indianola City Council will finalize property tax levies. Lent also said the best way for residents to get their voices heard on property tax levies, budget process, and address any other issues with city finances, is to attend the city council meetings. The property tax hearing will take place on March 2nd during the regular council meeting.
