A win and you are in scenario for the Simpson men’s basketball team worked in their favor Saturday afternoon taking down Buena Vista 85-72, while the Storm women completed the senior day sweep with a 76-56 win. The Storm men had four different players in double figures, earning a 42-36 halftime lead then basically replaying the half outscoring the Beavers 43-36 in the final 20 minutes. Conor Riordan scored 21 to lead the Storm, with Adam Reiter dropping 17, Kyle Wagner scored 15, and Collin Lister added 16. The Storm women outscored the Beavers 28-10 in the second quarter to take control of their contest after a back and forth first period, then cruised the rest of the way for the win. Cassie Chubb dropped 14 to lead the team, as the Storm saw 10 players score. The Storm men earn the fifth seed in the conference tournament, and will replay Buena Vista Tuesday on the road at Storm Lake, while the Storm women are also the fifth seed and will travel to Cedar Rapids to take on Coe.
