Despite facing some troubles as a team throughout the season, the PCM wrestling team was able to put two wrestlers on the podium at this weekend’s state tournament. All three ranked Mustang wrestlers qualified for state. Ninth-ranked 132-pounder Landon Fenton did not place, but won his opening bout and went 1-2.

Payton Drake was ranked seventh at 138, and found himself on the podium in seventh place at the end of the state tournament. He finished 3-2 at the tournament, and won his final appearance in the seventh place match.

PCM’s highest ranked wrestler, fifth-ranked Colby Tool at 152, also placed seventh, and finished with a 3-2 mark at state.

Both Fenton and Tool are expected to return next year for their senior seasons, while Drake will graduate this spring.
