The Pleasantville boys basketball team’s season has come to a close after a district loss to conference foe Woodward-Granger. With the conclusion of the season, the Trojans have completed their second year in the West Central Conference, after spending most of the millenium in the Pride of Iowa Conference. Head Coach Joel Allman says things went smoother in the second year in the league, and it’s a tough conference that makes teams well-prepared for the playoffs.
“Scouting was easier this year, I thought it helped us a lot in the conference games. But by no means is this conference an easy conference. I remember when we played Woodward-Granger the first time, and we were up maybe one or two at half, and their coach said to me, ‘Another night in the West Central Conference,’ and he’s exactly right. Every night you’ve got to bring your best, and that’s ultimately what we want to be in because it prepares us for [playoff games.]”
The Trojans finished sixth in the 12-team league.
