When the 2019-2020 school year wraps up in a few months, Pleasantville will have a new activities director. Joel Allman will assume the new role in the coming school year, following Jeff Cook’s upcoming retirement. The boys basketball and volleyball coach is a familiar face in the district, and is excited to help maintain the rich tradition of Pleasantville athletics and fine arts.
“Pleasantville has a proud tradition in activities, and I look forward to being able to build on that tradition. There’s a lot of excitement every year for our activities at Pleasantville. And I think we have great people as far as coaches go and sponsors, and great athletes to work with, great people to work with in the community. I look forward to continuing that tradition of Pleasantville activities, and I hope that we can continue to make it better each year.”
With Allman taking on more responsibility in the new position, he has decided to step away from his basketball coaching role, but plans to remain the head volleyball coach. Jeff Cook will finish out his duties this school year, and Allman will assume activities director responsibilities upon Cook’s retirement.
